A bit about the trans-identifying teenage boy who took the state of West Virginia to the US Supreme Court.

All the sympathetic stories about him can't hide who he is, and what he was allowed to do to young women.

A short follow up to the news that the Supreme Court of the US has allowed the states of West Virginia and Idaho to ban male student athletes from trans-identifying themselves into female student athletics:

On the Facebook page of Kristen Waggoner, who is also president of Alliance Defending Freedom, there is a post about the Supreme Court’s ruling that reads -

“Today you will read many sympathetic media stories about B.P.J. [Becky Pepper-Jackson], the male athlete who challenged WV’s law and lost at SCOTUS.

I’m guessing none of them will mention that B.P.J. defeated 470+ girls 1,400+ times (including a state title) and sexually harassed our client Adaleia Cross (pictured) in the girls’ locker room. Sadly, Adaleia stopped playing the school sports she loved due to B.P.J.’s ongoing presence in girls’ sports and spaces. [my highlight]

But we’ll probably be lucky if those girls get even a passing mention—let alone a front-page photo.

This has been the pattern on this issue from far too many institutions of power. Boys’ feelings are the focus. Girls’ safety, fairness, and opportunity take a back seat.

I’m so thankful today that the Supreme Court reversed that pattern, acknowledged the reality of biological sex, and remembered the girls”

Adaleia.

Just one person can affect many others, it’s not always an equal one-to-one equation. In this instance, just one teenage boy - who thought only of himself - negatively affected 470 girls, 1,400 times – and that was only in sports competitions. The ripple effect from that would have negatively affected many more, including the family and friends of those girls. His presence in female locker rooms and bathrooms would have had a negative affect on young women there, too, over and above the sexual harassment this young man is said to have perpetrated. Girls and young women wouldn’t have felt able to speak out about his presence anywhere. They would have been forced to supress any expression of their discomfort for the sake of his comfort.

Is that what ‘inclusion’ is supposed to look like? No, not by any rational standard. That word has been badly misused. What this young man, and those like him, has done is unwanted and unwarranted intrusion, pure and simple. As a result, he has negatively impacted young women like Adaleia, who gave up sports due to him, as well as 470 other young women - that we know of.

All this from ONE man who was allowed to intrude.
